Cruise familiarisation trip

One of the main perks that I’ve experienced whilst in the Cruise department definitely has to be the familiarisation trip I went on earlier this month. I was fortunate enough to visit the Thomson Destiny while it was in the Canaries & Morocco operating the Colourful Coasts itinerary.

While onboard I was fortunate enough to be invited to watch the evening entertainment with the Captain and Staff Captain and also to watch a sail away from the bridge. Every evening there is the opportunity to have a five course meal followed by a west end style show in the main theatre. Throughout the day you can take part in a range of activities including salsa lessons, marzipan modelling and cocktail making master classes – you’re never bored!

Having spent so long researching the cruise market and our product offering it was great to actually see it and meet our customers. Having never previously been keen to go on a cruise I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I was overwhelmed by the excellent service received onboard and how the housekeeping staff take such pride in their work and build strong relationships with our passengers. Customers explained to me that they’d been blown away by waiters remembering their drinks orders from 3 years ago! This level of service is astonishing and clearly shows why our ships gain such high customer satisfaction scores.
