Introduction to the IT Graduate Scheme

The TUI UK & Ireland I.T. graduate scheme is a dynamically structured two year programme which takes place at the TUI UK head office in Luton. The scheme consists of a number of placements within the I.T. department which aim to develop key skills in I.T., business and management. On top of this, there is also a six week placement abroad in one of TUI’s many resorts. During this time we will experience the customer journey first hand and get involved with all of the different aspects in “making travel experiences special“. The scheme also includes a non-I.T. related, three month placement elsewhere in the business. The objective of this is to understand all areas of the business and fully develop our commercial and business acumen.

Our I.T. placements are within the key teams of Service Delivery, I.T. Solutions, Business Concepts and I.T. Office. Each team performs different tasks within the department and as graduates we are very lucky to get the chance to experience working in each area. The placements give us the opportunity to take ownership of projects and work towards objectives set jointly with our line managers which always have a clear focus on our continual development. From formal coaching sessions and training days to the mentoring and buddy scheme, our on-going development is always at the centre of the scheme.

The aim of the programme is to develop leaders of the future. As a result we are given real responsibility and accountability from day one on the scheme. The opportunity to learn about I.T. within TUI is unprecedented and the expertise picked up will stand us in great stead as we start to build a promising and exciting career path.
