Developing Talent at TUI

Hi there, welcome to the next blog post which gives you a whistle stop tour of the different development schemes run at TUI UK & Ireland…

As well as the Graduate Leadership Schemes run here at TUITowers, we also have a 12month long Industrial Placement Scheme and an Apprentice ‘School Leavers’ Scheme which highlights TUI’s commitment to developing talent.

The Placement scheme is run from our Commercial department, (the ‘engine room’ of the business) and is designed to give under-graduates the best possible start to their career. Speaking first-hand – having completed the placement scheme myself in 2010/11 – I can vouch for this statement. I’m now progressing on the Graduate Leadership Scheme after enjoying every minute of my placement year working in a Cruise Product role! The scheme offers University students the chance to have a real job with real responsibility in key Commercial roles from Trading, to Product, to Purchasing.

It goes without saying that we think our Placement Scheme is one of the best. And we’re pleased to say that we’re not alone. The scheme has previously won a number of awards to make it credible; some recent accolades include Top 10 in RateMyPlacement’s ‘Best Medium-Sized Placement Scheme’ category and Finalists in the National Council for Work Experience awards for ‘Best Large Organisation – Long Term Placements’.

Similarly, the Apprenticeship scheme also has glowing reviews. Hot off the press and only in its first year, the scheme offers ambitious and talented school or college leavers the opportunity to join a two year development programme, spanning a range of roles across Product and Purchasing or Planning and Trading.
