University and Degree: Loughborough University – International Business
What Scheme you are on: UK & Ireland Graduate Leadership Scheme
Why did you apply for the graduate scheme at TUI: After completing the placement scheme here at TUI in 2010-11 I knew it was the company for me; I love everything about it. The graduate scheme in particular is great because you get a real overview of the whole company. Completing 3 month assignments in Airline, Marketing, Commercial, Distribution and Overseas really gives you an insight into how the company operates. Having ownership of certain projects was also a driver for me to apply as you get a real sense of responsibility; you get the chance to meet so many people and really make a difference in the department you work in. I have a real passion for travel and being able to reflect this during day to day work also pushed me to apply for the scheme.
What you are doing in your current assignment: My first assignment is in the Airline Flight Operations team implementing a Cosmic Radiation Monitoring System. As well as this, I am working on numerous fuel saving projects and have been involved in random activities – from a familiarisation flight (sitting in the cockpit – to and from Gran Canaria), to modelling the latest Pilot uniform! Next stop is the Marketing department, where I’ll be working on a customer recognition programme.
Favourite thing about working at TUI: The culture – everyone is really approachable and it’s clear that everyone is working towards the same values. The office boasts a really friendly atmosphere and it’s a really great place to work.
What are your interests outside of work: Socialising with friends, going to the gym (when I have the motivation), eating out (giving me motivation to go to the gym), playing Netball in the St Albans league and, of course – travelling!
What is your best holiday/travel experience: 3 months in America for Summer Camp in 2012 – I worked at a camp in Upstate New York, before travelling the East Coast – New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Florida. I loved every minute of it and it was the summer of a lifetime!
Dream holiday destination: Bora Bora – in the 4 Seasons Hotel to be specific!
What is the cheesiest song on your i-pod: Hanson – Mmm Bop!
Proudest achievement: Getting on the TUI UK & I Graduate Scheme of course!
Most adventurous thing you’ve ever eaten: A pig’s tail…
If you won the lottery what is the first thing you’d buy: A beautiful, brand new, shiny, red Ferrari
