Meet the 2013 Grads – Laura

LauraUniversity and Degree: University of Bath – Politics and International Relations

What Scheme you are on: UK&I Leadership Scheme (Commercial)

Why did you apply for the graduate scheme at TUI: Not the most original answer, but the main appeal for me to work in the travel industry is because I have always loved travelling, and have been to some amazing places, so the chance to work for TUI was a perfect opportunity to combine a passion of mine with a career. The structure and nature of this particular scheme also made this the right scheme for me.

What you are doing in your current assignment: I’m currently working within Airline Product Development, in a project management based role. My projects have focused on researching and proposing a variety of initiatives that would increase personalisation and customer recognition within Airline.

Favourite thing about working at TUI: The people here really make it an enjoyable place to work, and the amount of support we’ve had since starting has been fantastic. TUI is a really vibrant company that is always changing and moving forwards, which makes it an exciting business to be a part of.

What is your best holiday/travel experience:  Travelling around Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam for 5 weeks – a bit ‘gap yah’ of me but it was an incredible trip and I was gutted that I couldn’t stay longer!

Dream holiday destination: There are very few places in the world I wouldn’t want to visit, but if I had to pick I’d say Central and South America – Brazil, Costa Rica, and the Galapagos have to be up there. South Africa, Australia and New Zealand are all on the list.

Proudest achievement: Getting the on the TUI Graduate Scheme was a pretty proud moment!

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why: Hilary Clinton – A hugely inspirational woman who would have some pretty interesting insights into the world.

If you won the lottery what is the first thing you’d buy: A first class round the world ticket.
